Fais Doo Doo Update #4

Dear Community,

We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the transition into fall! We are excited to share an update on Team Fais Doo Doo’s efforts to install pet waste stations in Downtown Lafayette. As many of you know, keeping our community clean and enjoyable for everyone—pets included—is a top priority for us.

While we experienced a couple of setbacks over the summer, we’re pleased to report that things are back in full swing. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team, we’re making significant progress toward having the waste stations up and running this fall. In addition to our efforts downtown, we’ve partnered with our neighbors in the Freetown-Port Rico community to relocate one of our ten pet waste stations to Heritage Park, a popular grassy area across the street from Gary’s. This collaboration will help extend the benefits of clean, pet-friendly spaces to even more of our community.

We’re happy to report that all supplies have been delivered, the waste stations have been assembled, and locations for installation have been marked. The only thing left is for gas lines to be marked so we can safely install the stations.

We’re looking forward to getting these stations operational soon, and we appreciate your patience and support as we complete this project. Together, we’re making Lafayette a cleaner, friendlier place for all! Thank you for being a part of this important initiative.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle with Team Fais Doo Doo

Hey Lafayette Community!

As we gear up for the warmer months ahead, I’m excited to share some fantastic news regarding our 24 Hour Citizen Project ––especially for our furry pals and their humans. With the green light from the city, we are now setting our sights on getting these stations up and running just in time for the peak of summer. Imagine strolling through our vibrant downtown area, knowing that convenient and accessible waste stations are at your service whenever your furry companions need to answer nature’s call.

These strategically placed stations are designed to provide convenient and accessible locations for pet owners to dispose of waste responsibly. Each station will be equipped with waste bags, a disposal bin, and informative signage, making it easier than ever for pet owners to clean up after their pets while enjoying the heart of our city. By promoting responsible pet ownership, we aim to foster a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone to enjoy.

As we eagerly await the installation of these pet waste stations, I invite you all to continue spreading the word and championing responsible pet ownership in our downtown area. Thank YOU –– our amazing community –– for your unwavering support and enthusiasm. I can’t wait to see you all out there with your furry friends by your side!

Warmest regards,
Gabrielle Keaton of Team Fais Doo Doo

Fais Doo Doo Update #2

Hey there, friends!

I hope you’re all wagging your tails with excitement because I’ve got some paws-itively awesome news to share about our pet waste station project!

I’m thrilled to announce that after discussions and collaboration with the city, we’ve officially got the green light to install pet waste stations on public property throughout our beloved Downtown Lafayette! Now that we have obtained necessary approval, our focus shifts to the planning phase. Over the coming months, our team will be working at marking key “hot spots” for pet waste throughout the downtown district and then, begin the installation process. We are committed to engaging with local businesses and resident pet owners throughout this process to ensure that the chosen locations align with the needs and preferences of our community members.

Our target is to have all ten pet waste stations installed and operational by the summer of 2024. While there is still much work to be done, I am confident that with your continued support, we will achieve this goal and enhance the livability of Downtown Lafayette for both residents and visitors alike.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has been a part of this journey so far. Your enthusiasm and passion are what make our community truly special. Stay tuned for further updates!

All the best,
Gabrielle Keaton of Team Fais Doo Doo

Dear Community,

We are absolutely thrilled to reach out to you with boundless excitement and gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received for our project to bring pet waste stations to Downtown Lafayette! From the start, this project has been fueled by the collective spirit of our community members, and it fills our hearts with joy to see how much we all care about making Downtown Lafayette an even better place for everyone, including our furry friends.

A special and heartfelt thanks go to our incredible donors. Your generosity has played a pivotal role in turning our vision into tangible pet waste stations that will be coming to Downtown Lafayette in the new year. We also want to express our gratitude to the team of rockstars behind the 24 Hour Citizen Project for providing us with the opportunity to turn this idea into reality. Their support and encouragement have been instrumental in navigating this journey, and we are so grateful for the chance to contribute to our community in such a meaningful way.

The pet waste stations are not just functional additions; they are symbols of what we can achieve when we come together. These stations will not only keep our public spaces clean but also serve as a reminder of the vibrant and caring community we are all a part of.

Our next steps will be to meet with LCG representatives in the coming weeks to discuss maintenance and installation plans. Then, we can move forward with ordering all required supplies and have a more accurate timeline for project completion. We’re so appreciative of everyone’s support and are looking forward to kicking things off in the new year. Stay tuned!

Sincerely,
Team Fais Doo Doo
